Apologies for the lack of activity for the past few months guys. This was my last year in graduate school and had just recently obtained my master’s degree. Woohoo! Also, notable games for optimization were very scarce these past few months.

But don’t worry, Peter Parker has just swung in to save the day! Spider-Man Remastered on PC is a very interesting title because it’s both hardware-friendly yet hardware intensive at the same time. Sounds confusing? Watch the video to find out!

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
1. When tinkering with the graphics settings while RTX settings are enabled, ALWAYS RESTART YOUR GAME! This will prevent stuttering and weird performance issues which will skew your benchmarks testing. If you experience a weird FPS drop after changing a setting, simply restart the game. Fortunately, restarting this game is really, really fast as you can mash your way through the startup intros and go straight into the game. Loading in this game is extremely quick as well!

2. If you are still confused with the RTX performance scaling, let me clarify further:
If you are GPU limited, (GPU Usage at 99 percent), use RTX Set 1 – Reflection Resolution: High Geometry Detail: Very High. if you are CPU bottlenecked, (GPU Usage is below 90 percent) Use RTX Set 2 – Reflection Resolution: Very High Geometry Detail: High.

3. If you’re having frame pacing issues, lock the game at 60 FPS using Rivatuner or your GPU Control Panel. It smoothens your frametimes and creates a very straight line graph.

Currently, the game is not able to fully utilize high-end hardware and I think there needs to be an optimization patch to fix performance. Don’t worry if you can’t completely use Max settings at smooth framerates even with super high-end rigs. The game still needs to be improved. Let’s just be patient for now.
